DetailsFine bubble diffusers release air through micro slits in the membrane as a large number of small bubbles. Smaller bubbles mean a larger air-water contact area, so more oxygen dissolves at the same air flow — raising standard oxygen transfer efficiency (SOTE) and lowering blower energy use. This is the most widely used aeration type in activated sludge, MBR and SBR processes. Disc, plate and tube bodies are chosen according to basin depth and grid layout.
