Filter Nozzles

Filter nozzles sit in the floor plate of sand and multimedia filters, holding the media back while letting water pass. Slot width is chosen below the finest grain in the bed, giving filtration at low head loss with no media carry-over. During backwash they distribute air and water evenly across the floor so every part of the bed is cleaned equally. Uneven nozzle distribution causes channelling and a loss of filter performance.
